Once again, the show was crammed full of #NewMusic. An eclectic mix of original, intelligent, melodic, grown-up songs - #electronic, #rnb, #jazz, #blues and #acoustic. And mostly from artists who you have not heard of - yet! Think 'next series of Jools' - that's the kind of artists that we play.
We had #NewMusic from Arctic Lake Fantastic Negrito KWAYE Lucius Taiecha L'shae Firewoodisland JellyX Blaue Blume Samuella Colouring Scott DuBois INTET Lotte Walda Run Rivers Useless Cities mac/glidden and others.
Our Luvva Cover was a truly remarkable reinterpretation of one of the great soul songs of all time - first recorded by Gladys Knight & The Pips but made more famous by the incomparable Marvin Gaye. You won't believe the transformation of this song!
And Switch Dunmow's Record Of The Week was a new single by an Essex-based #soul #funk #disco duo called Goldiva. They draw inspiration from 70s and 80s soul, funk & disco, and combine this with a collaborative approach similar to that of Gorillaz and Daft Punk.
Music that you just don't hear anywhere else!
